Tilia Properties’ subsidiary, Tilia Foulsham recently
purchased a section of the Foulsham Airfield which
fronts Hindolveston Road approximately 18 miles north
west of Norwich. The site is approximately 5.13 acres
and is used for agricultural storage purposes with
ancillary offices.
The
site has been named Addison Farm after Air
Vice-Marshall Edward Barker Addison of No. 100 Bomber
Group.
Foulsham Airforce base was renowned for introducing
electronic warfare and countermeasure equipment during
the 2nd World War and was the first airfield
selected to have the FIDO fog-dispersal system installed
on its main runway.
Two
former hangars have been extensively refurbished to be
used for agricultural storage. In addition a building
has been created to house specialist on site grading
facilities. A former air force technical block has also
been refurbished to provide modern mess room facilities
for the staff who will be employed at the site along
with a weighbridge office and laboratory space.
